I've turned my sister, Katie, onto estate sales! (Who I just had to call to ask where my appropriate comas go). Now I have another buddy to not only go with but to wake me up on the weekends to tell me she may have found a good one! This sale wasn't the best BUT it was their last day and everything was half off of course. One of the bedrooms had a headboard and dresser marked for $100 (half off at $50). No need for the headboard, how much for just the dresser? "Will $15 do?" 15 bucks? That's like for free? Yes please!
(P.S totally just remembered while posting this that we have the mirror tucked somewhere in our basement!)
I'm not patient enough to sand furniture, espppppecially not for 15 bucks. So two heavy coats of Valspar Paint and Primer it is! Ace Hardware is my go-to for project paint. For 4.99 (or 6.99) this little sample can is plenty of paint without wasting much.
I got pretty lucky that I love the original hardware. Usually my obsession with hardware gets the best of me and often I spend more on those then the piece of furniture!
I thought maybe I would put baskets on the three shelves but (I cant believe I am saying this) sometimes there is such a thing as too many baskets and I am pretty close to my limit. So my favorite anthro jar, some books and a decorative ball with do juuuuuuuuust fine.
Two hour paint job and 20 bucks later, voila! Quick flip.
Ps. this color will happen again in the near future, I'm kinda in love :)
