My mom, my faithful reader and biggest fan, has asked me once a month why I haven't written anything new. To be honest, it's not because I don't have the time (I kinda don't) but I mainly just don't have anything cool to share. No new major projects, renovations or remodels. If any house could be "finished" ours kinda is. The very last post was on October 14th of last year and we were just starting our little girl's nursery. A year later and it is filled with so much love from so many people! So to put an end to Home Sweet Harney, here are pictures of my most favorite room in the house.
My sister in law painted this! Isn't it the cutest?
To backtrack a bit, I was drooling over mobiles from Etsy that were so ridiculously expensive (sorry Etsy!!) and I knew I could do something similar myself! I spent all of $15 at Hobby Lobby on felt fabric, a package of hemp, an embroidery hoop (the same bad boys that I used for her orb chandelier), a bit of stuffing and some buttons that I ended not even using. A needle, some thread, a permanent marker and fishing wire and we were good to go! I'm not going to lie, this took some time! But when you're 9 months pregnant and just want to sit there, I was more than okay working on it. I think it turned out even better than the ones I was originally drooling over!
Oh and her chalkboards? I am
These bookshelves were SO incredibly easy. Remember way back when with the hallway floating shelves? Same thing! We scavenged for wood in the basement and it took all of 30 minutes to assemble and paint! They are just perfect!

Believe it or not, we are already on the lookout for our next house. We thought we would never want to leave this place. It was our first home and where our first baby was born. But the thing about babies is even though they are teeny tiny, they take up a lot, a LOT of space. Our living room looks like a daycare center and the one tub is filled with more bath toys you could ever imagine.
So I hope someday soon I will have more great things to blog about but for now, I'll focus on this baby. The best thing ever.
Thanks for reading! :)
