All In a Nights Work!

After tearing down the awful paneling in the living room we were ready for bigger things. Next up? Knocking out the wall connecting the dining room and kitchen. After looking at numerous houses (we honestly don't know how our realtor didn't give up on us?) we knew exactly what we wanted for our own kitchen.

Before I go any further, I need to introduce Mike. Mike is Loren's bestie who knows anything and everything about anything and everything. With Mike's skills (and every tool you can possibly think of, most of which we have acquired since then) and Loren's ability to pick up on things quickly, they knocked this project out. Literally.

So. Incredibly. Dusty. But so incredibly happy :) Fast forward to now... The floors were ripped up and the wood was refinished, we purchased new appliances, installed new lighting, added fresh paint, ordered new hardware, put up a wall treatment (my most favorite part) and new counter tops were installed! Stay tuned for that blog, the OCD in me has to go in order!

What I learned: anything can be done, there is horsehair in plaster and who knows what you can find in old walls. Scrabble pieces, army men and old newspaper were our gems in this wall.
